Welcome to my blog series on the 5 Stages of Business Growth.
Over the next five blog posts, I will be introducing you to each stage of growth as your business moves from becoming known, to becoming profitable, to a model which runs itself.
As a Business Coach, my first step is to help my clients identify the growth stage they are in. Once identified, our next step is to develop systems and processes which will take my clients’ business to the next level of growth.
I am sure you are wondering, “Knowing where I am is fine but what actions should I take to get to the next level?”
I am glad you asked! My monthly e-mail newsletter will focus on action tips for moving from each blog post’s stage of growth to the next stage.

Let’s get started with the first stage of business growth: VISIBILITY.
In this stage, our key question is, “Do people know you exist?”
Here are the top 3 indicators that you are in this stage:
- potential customers don’t know who you are or what your business does.
- you aren’t actively promoting your business.
- you might feel overwhelmed and don’t know how to promote your business.
You decided to start your business. Great! Filled with passion, you have created a website, ordered business cards, and possibly, found an office location – even if it’s your spare bedroom which now doubles as a home office.
Now, all you have to do is find some customers and you’re on your way.
But how will they find you?
Where is the best (and most cost effective) way to connect with potential new business?
How do you spend your time and money wisely to avoid a ‘spray and pray’ approach to marketing?
All great questions as a business navigates through the VISIBILITY stage.
My next post will be on the second stage, CREDIBILITY. For action tips on how to move from Visibility to Credibility, please sign up for my e-mail newsletter here:

I find that it’s a lot of work getting people to know what my passion is & why they want to listen to me … But I like talking (!) so that part is easy. Keeping the excitement generated ~ ??
